Editorial standard
The skeleton of a card, and the words this register does not use.
Every card follows the same order: the defining line, two paragraphs, two claims, who it is not for, sources, verification, booking, at a glance, the sister collections, related records. The order is fixed across all collections of the House so that a reader who learns one register can read eleven.
Every card names who the house is wrong for. A register that only praises is a brochure, and the negative line is the part a reader can test.
Superlatives, star ratings and rankings do not appear. Nor do the words that stand in for evidence — the ultimate, the unparalleled, the paradise found. Where a claim cannot be made in plain terms it is not made.
The English text is the only edition. Machine translation is offered as machine translation and marked as such; it is not a second edition and does not carry the register's authority.
